E1I am a Visiting Professor at Occidental College. I earned a Ph.D. from Claremont Graduate University in 2018, completing and defending my dissertation in the Summer.

My research interests focus on state and local politics, race and ethnicity, the mass media, political communication, and political behavior. In general, my interests reside at the intersection of American Politics and Public Policy.

I have taught courses on Immigration, Latino Politics, and Public Policy. I have also taught several introductory course in American Politics. While at Oxy, I am teaching Law and Society, Immigration Politics, and American Politics and Public Policy.

I am currently researching how media coverage affects attitudes toward immigration within the states. I am also researching how public opinion toward Latinos is formed given their emergence into non-traditional U.S. states.

My work has appeared in Ethics and Experiments: Problems and Solutions for Social Scientists and Policy Professionals, and Unconventional, Partisan, and Polarizing Rhetoric: How the 2016 Election Shaped the Way Candidates Strategize, Engage, and Communicate. I also recently served as an editorial assistant for the Journal of Politics.
